Prison Outreach Program

On 7th March 2026, the Bright-Rostrum Humanitarian Foundation, in partnership with the Rushayne Stewart Foundation, visited Kirikiri Maximum Prison in Apapa,Lagos Nigeria —not to judge, but to listen, learn, and lend a helping hand.

It was a meaningful outreach that brought encouragement, open conversation, and tangible support to the inmates—a reminder that hope can be found in the most unexpected places.

During the visit, both foundations toured the men’s educational centre, where classrooms are filled with the quiet determination of individuals rebuilding their skills and planning for a better future.

An honest and engaging conversation on mental health also took place. Rather than a lecture, it was an interactive session—an opportunity to share experiences and discuss coping strategies, stress management, and simple daily practices that promote emotional stability. The inmates openly shared their struggles and hopes, exchanged insights, and emphasised the importance of creating spaces where mental well-being is taken seriously.

In addition to these engagements, the Bright-Rostrum Humanitarian Foundation and the Rushayne Stewart Foundation made a financial contribution to the educational centre. This support is aimed at sustaining programs, providing learning materials, and equipping instructors with the resources needed to continue their impactful work. It represents a practical investment in human potential—supporting education as a pathway to transformation.

This visit reinforced a simple but powerful truth: dignity, education, and care matter. We are deeply grateful to the staff and the men who welcomed us warmly. We remain committed to strengthening this partnership, expanding mental health support, and enhancing educational programs at the centre.
